About

My name is Xiangjun Lou

I owe my passion for editing to Japanese anime. It was the be-all, end all of my life the minute I first laid eyes on the characters in elementary school. I was attracted by the unique voices and beautiful images of the characters.

By the time I traversed high school I was attending anime exhibitions wearing the clothes of my favorite anime characters. My desire to share my love of these characters with other curious or like-minded fans compelled me to learn how to shoot and edit cosplay videos.

In college, my world expanded from being the single lane of anime to the heavily trafficked freeway lanes of film, TV, and theater. What I loved most about immersing myself in the craft of editing for film and digital media were the human characters at the core of the stories. Assembling raw footage into engaging, moving, funny, thrilling tales is why I am so smitten with my craft.
While in college, I  landed an editing internship at a well-known Chinese production company.  Apprenticing as an assistant editor to professional editors advanced my skills so much so that I decided to pursue my MFA.
